| Ascension recognizes the importance of athletic competition in the lives of students who participate as players or fans, as well as its importance in the life and culture of the school. Athletics and sports teach participants life lessons beyond the classroom in a structured and safe environment. Ascension is committed to athletic excellence through sound instruction, maximum participation and good sportsmanship at every stage of the school's athletic program. Organized sports can be an important element of teen development. Ascension fields teams in a wide variety of sports. Team sports offered during the school year include football, volleyball, cross-country, basketball, soccer, track, baseball, softball, tennis, swimming and golf. All students in grades 5-12 are eligible to participate.
AES home football games are held at Clark Field located near N. P. Moss Annex at the corner of Moss and Mudd. From the AES campus, take a left on Evangeline Thruway, take a right on Jefferson Street, and a left on Moss. Take a right on Mudd and go one block to Park Avenue. Take a left on Park Avenue.
