Foreign Languages
|
Our community is strongly influenced by the Acadian culture and thus we emphasize the French language. Lower school students in grades 3 and 4 meet weekly to study French vocabulary and culture. French class focuses on the first stages of language, learning through a variety of hands-on and physical activities. Middle and upper school students may choose French or Spanish as their foreign language requirement. Listening, reading, writing and grammar are refined at this level. At the end of the eighth grade year, students take the state proficiency exam that enables students to earn high school credit for a foreign language. |
