Division Highlights
|
As students progress from preschool through upper school, the AES curriculum insures that each student is presented with developmentally appropriate materials. To maximize each student’s potential, creative and critical thinking skills are emphasized in an environment of supportive learning. Small class size and teacher-to-student ratios allow for an intimate, interpersonal atmosphere. The home and school connection is valued, and parental support is highly desired.
The Upper School division builds on the model and philosophy of the existing divisions. Upper School is firmly grounded in the school's mission of "providing academic excellence in a Christian environment" and has as its goal the continuing development of young adults with the qualities prayed for daily in the school prayer: gentleness, generosity, truthfulness, kindness and bravery.
Upper school students are entering a complex world which competes in a global economy.Developing critical thinking skills is essential for the twenty-first century student to be an involved and productive member of society. Through a highly interactive, technology enhanced, standards-based curriculum, Ascension Upper School students are able to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to successfully compete in postsecondary institutions and to succeed in today's workforce.
The Ascension Upper School prepares students to become life-long learners.
The Upper School campus is located in the Sugar Mill Pond planned community at 1800 Chemin Metairie Parkway, Youngsville, LA.
