As students progress from preschool through upper school, the AES curriculum insures that each student is presented with developmentally appropriate materials. To maximize each student’s potential, creative and critical thinking skills are emphasized in an environment of supportive learning. Small class size and teacher-to-student ratios allow for an intimate, interpersonal atmosphere. The home and school connection is valued, and parental support is highly desired.
By offering increased responsibility and high expectations within a supportive environment, the middle school program continues the process of helping students define their roles in their families, school and community. The middle school program recognizes the significant spiritual, emotional, social, physical and intellectual growth that students experience as they are striving for independence and autonomy. At this level, students progress from a teacher guided model of instruction to a level of independent critical analysis. Middle school academic programs allow each student to progress in grade level or honors classes.
Grades 5, 6 and 7 are located on the main campus at 1030 Johnston Street. Grade 8 is located at the Sugar Mill Pond campus in Youngsville at 1800 Chemin Metairie Parkway.
