The goals of the Opening New Doors capital campaign are simple: to provide the needed facility for school expansion and to provide for its ongoing support through increased endowment. Both goals are essential for Ascension to maintain and expand upon its tradition of academic excellence it has enjoyed for nearly half a century.
To meet the needs of the students, Ascension will add a third campus in the Sugar Mill Pond planned community in Youngsville. The anticipated size of the upper school campus is 100 to 150 students per grade with a total population at full implementation of 400 to 600 students.
At the center of the Sugar Mill Pond campus will be the Chapel. Students will gather in the Chapel daily and it will also be a place for quiet reflection. The campus facilities will include appropriate classrooms and labs, Academic Research Center, Science and Business Center, Visual and Performing Arts Center, student union serving as a dining facility, administration offices and a sports complex. Included in the sports complex are two gymnasiums, football and track stadium, natatorium and fields for softball, baseball, soccer and lacrosse.
