History
|
In the late 1950s, recognizing the excellent reputation of Episcopal schools, a young mother dreamed of a parish day school for her children. With the support of The Rev. David J. Coughlin, Rector of Ascension Parish, and several dedicated parishioners and professionals, Jeanette Parker organized Ascension Day School with a kindergarten class of 17 in the fall of 1959 and served as Director until 1966. That year, she was named Headmistress, a position she held until 1968. Dr. Parker continues to serve as an enthusiastic consultant to the school. |
